Sensory Design Project (Cafe Diem)

Usually, as designers, I focus on the visual sense, the users’ needs, and how to make it accessible and easy for them to use. Going beyond the visual sense and thinking about smell, touching, and hearing was not a priority. I am glad that I did this experience and gained these new skills. Cafe Diem is located in downtown Ames on Main Street. After revisiting Cafe Diem, I found that the location has distinguished it. It is close to many vital places in the city. The interior design for the place leans toward the country style, aesthetic, casual, and cozy decorating style, which eludes the feeling of simple country life. That makes people feel at home, and everything comes from nature. I liked that idea and want to strengthen it and make it clear and simple. That makes customers feel that everything is coming from nature and that this is a cozy place that feels like home. It is also important to provide visitors with various types of seats. The place needs to have a brand identity and environment incongruent.
